The goal is for everyone to play with different teammates across fresh mixed-doubles matchups.

Which courts are we using?
Courts 7, 10, and 11.

Qualifying & scoring
How many games does each person play?
Everyone plays 5 qualifying games and sits out 2 qualifying rounds.
After qualifying, everyone enters either Tier A or Tier B playoffs. Each player then plays 2 playoff games: a semifinal, followed by either a final or a 3rd place game.
Simple version: 5 qualifying games + 2 playoff games = 7 total official games per player.
How long is each qualifying game?
Each qualifying round is 10 minutes total: 8 minutes of play, plus 2 minutes to switch courts and record scores.
When does a game end?
A game ends when time runs out or when one team reaches 15 points, whichever comes first.
For example, if time runs out at 13–8, the game ends 13–8. You do not keep playing to 15.
How does individual scoring work?
Your team score becomes your individual score for that game. Your points follow you, not your partner.
Example: If a game ends 13–8, both players on the 13-point team each receive 13 individual points. Both players on the 8-point team each receive 8 individual points.
This means every point matters, even in a loss.
What do I need to remember after each game?
Record scores immediately after every game. Your individual score matters, even if your team loses.
Playoffs & rankings
How are playoff tiers decided?
After qualifying, men and women are ranked separately by total individual points.
M1 is the highest-ranked male, M2 is second, and so on.
W1 is the highest-ranked female, W2 is second, and so on.
The top 4 men and top 4 women enter Tier A. The remaining 4 men and remaining 4 women enter Tier B.
Example: If the top four men after qualifying are M1, M2, M3, and M4, and the top four women are W1, W2, W3, and W4, those eight players form the Tier A playoff pool.
How are playoff teams created?
Teams are created by pairing higher-ranked players with lower-ranked players within the same tier. This keeps playoff teams more balanced.
Tier A teams
Team 1: M1 + W4
Team 2: M2 + W3
Team 3: M3 + W2
Team 4: M4 + W1
Tier B teams
Team 1: M5 + W8
Team 2: M6 + W7
Team 3: M7 + W6
Team 4: M8 + W5
How are playoff seeds decided?
After playoff teams are created, each team’s qualifying points are added together. The team with the highest combined score becomes Seed 1, then Seed 2, Seed 3, and Seed 4.
Example Tier A seeding:
TeamPlayersTotalSeed
Team 1M1 65 + W4 49114Seed 4
Team 2M2 61 + W3 54115Seed 3
Team 3M3 58 + W2 58116Seed 2
Team 4M4 55 + W1 64119Seed 1
In this example, Team 4 becomes Seed 1 because 119 is the highest combined qualifying score.
What are the playoff matchups?
In both Tier A and Tier B, the semifinals are:
Seed 1 vs Seed 4
Seed 2 vs Seed 3
The semifinal winners play in the final. The semifinal losing teams play in the 3rd place game.
What happens if players are tied after qualifying?
Ties are broken in this order:
Total individual points
Point differential
Number of wins
Head-to-head result, if applicable
Organizer decision / coin flip if still tied
Prize
What is the prize?
Each winning player from the Tier A and Tier B championship teams receives an Uncle Tetsu cheesecake.
How many winners are there?
There are 4 winning players total: 2 players from the Tier A championship team and 2 players from the Tier B championship team.
